Our Grade 2’s learnt about different components of a computer. We taught them what each component is and what they do. We were pleasantly astounded that the children knew most of the components and their use without us even explaining it! A few components we taught the children about included a Central Processing Unit (CPU), headphones, CD- Drive, monitor, speakers, laptop power plug and also the different between a desktop computer and laptop. We then tested the children with a quick quiz made on 2DIY and they did remarkably well! At the end of each lesson we asked one child to pretend to be the teacher and test the class on the picture of components; we were delighted to see our future teachers teach computers!
