Facial Features…this week’s focus for our Grade 1 & 2 learners. In 2DIY, a do it yourself program our learners learnt how to label the different facial features. For example: eyes, nose, mouth etc. They had to draw a picture of their face and write the correct labels. Learners could add their own creative touch by using different paint tools, colours and shapes. Once they had finished drawing their faces, we then proceeded to drag the respective label to the correct place on the face. This activity was beneficial for learner’s identification and spelling skills and created a great platform for a future lesson when learners will be learning how to label the face in Afrikaans.
